Leadership Development: Ameritech
The Organizational Development consulting group assigned to Information Technology at Ameritech designed a leadership development curriculum responding to a needs assessment administered in 1998. Apples and Oranges Service with a Connections Booklet was a primary focus of the development along with Blanchard’s Situational Leadership and an internal performance management program. 400 IT managers attended the learning from February 1999 through August 1999. Level 3 evaluation results of the program indicated that 60% of the respondents to Business Connections (Apples and Oranges) produced a high degree of improvement in their performance, 20% a medium degree and 8% a low degree.
